In 1998, the Urrutia Elejalde Foundation launched
an annual Summer School meant to bring together a number of economists
and philosophers in order to discuss the state of the art in a field
of common interest. Summer School topics have ranged from bounded rationality
and scientific progress in economics to polarization and conflict. The
interaction of distinguished scholars with an audience of young researchers
is a central concern of the Summer School. Lecturers in past years have
included Amartya Sen, Uskali Mäki, Ariel Rubinstein, and Philippe
van Parijs.
